French Chevau-légers lanciers are my favorite Napoleonic cavalry. The mix of hunter green and extensive use of the regimental facing color creates a wonderful combination. The Dragoon helmet with a caterpillar comb completes the classic look of the era. And finally, the lances with their red and white swallow-tail pennons add a dash of danger and a splash of color.

These figures (both horses and riders) are Mirliton.

Flag by GMB.

Painting by Scott MacPhee, except for the metal pennons, which I assembked and painted. I also added an extra coat of Floquil high gloss to give these guys some extra shine.

The Passion for Collecting Toy Soldiers

I have loved toy soldiers since I was a young boy in the 70’s. As I aged, the passion grew as it merged with my other interests: collecting, history, art, crafting, and gaming.

French Hussars - 4th Regiment

Actually 4 regiments all painted as the 4th French Hussars. Even though my basing convention is 1 regiment per stand, it looks better to have all four stands in a division painted as the same regiment
